Is there another scope with similar or the same features around that $350 price? I held one today and its pretty slick. Looking for something for a .223 .

I'm not into twisting turrets, but I love to look at optics. I found this not too long ago: https://www.natchezss.com/weaver-super-s...icle-matte.htmlI'm not sure that "regular price" isn't full-blown MSRP, but half off MSRP isn't a bad deal price-wise. I'm not at all sure about the quality of Weaver optics, either, since the last one I owned was made in El Paso and had a steel tube. You'd think a scope with a $663.99 MSRP would be pretty decent, though.

I have one of the Burris 1-4 scopes with the bdc type reticle. It's a great scope for a 223. I have run mine out to 800 yards. Once you know your holds (which will not line up on the reticle exactly), I can easily engage targets to 500 yards with ease. You will like it.

Seems like the trendiest scope of this variety and price range is the Vortex Strike Eagle. I have no idea how this compares to the Burris in terms of clarity and what not but it certainly pffers more features, namely more zoom. http://swfa.com/Strike-Eagle-C12550.aspx

My favorite scope for an AR. I haven't been impressed with Vortex.

I have one and a pst viper 1-4. The mtac is a better value. I can be more precise with the vortex, but not worth the additional $150-200

I've had the MTAC and currently have the Vortex 1-6 Strike Eagle and PST 1-4. The MTAC is a great scope with my only gripe being the reticle as the dots are too large for my taste. I much prefer the Vortex, Bushnell and SWFA reticles but you can't go wrong with the MTAC if the reticle suits you.
I was wrong...on anything technical. Fitz............. is right, ya know............

Every scope mentioned in this post is nice! I settled for the Vortex viper due to reticle and clear glass with a true 1x. You cant go wrong with any of the scopes mentioned in this post. Flip a coin and get what you can afford.

Got the MTac here. Bought as a scope to hold me over until the Strike Eagle came out, but after using it and learning how fast it is to get in target, I won't be switching it out. Love it on my 223. Like Chad said, the holds aren't perfect, but if I sling 62gr ammo it's close enough to hit 3/4 human targets at 100 200 300 400 yards.

Thanks for the replies. Managed to win an auction paying $289 for it. Thought that was good.

Good choice and great price. Slap it in a Burris PEPR mount and rock on
