I entered a raffle back in December. $100/ticket, 300 tickets sold, one drawing a month for 2016. Didn't win January's, but I got the call this morning that I won this month!. Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08. So my name's out of the hat now, but I'm happy. Was initially use it for trading fodder or sell it, but it looks like a nice rifle in a caliber I don't have. Any first-hand experience here with a Remmy Model 7? I'm picking it up tomorrow in Franklin.
I have a Leupold 3-9×40 sitting on a shelf. I guess that'd be good glass for it, just for basic deer hunting?

New trigger, I'll look into that thanks. Any in particular? I'm a fan of Timney, personally.

7-08 is a great hunting round. The Model 7's are decent. I had one in 300 blk out, and liked it a lot. I only sold it b/c a customer "made me an offer I couldn't refuse!"

I had a Model 7 in 7mm-08, it was a good rifle. X2 on switching out the trigger, Timney would be an excellent and economical choice. I traded it off after having it for a few years, not that there was anything wrong with it. I just wanted a T3 more. Replace the trigger, bed the action and float the barrel. You'll have a winner.

This my Model Seven. It was a factory 7-08 when I traded for it. It's a 308 now. It's a nice action to build on. Keeper for sure.
Haha yea I polished that thing for hours.
