Birds are landing in the spouts of the tube feeders. Eating some, but mostly raking hundreds of pounds of feed to the ground. Anyone have any contraptions or ideas how to stop this?? Thanks in advance

Im sure one of the trough style feeders would reduce what goes on the ground. Several use the timed trough feeders with good results and I would bet you can set them to be free choice also if you wanted.

Do you mix corn with your protein? I seen birds scratching out protein to get to the bits of corn.

We have birds get in ours also and it is straight protein no corn, but our loss isn't near as significant.

I use to have Coons, Squirrels and Birds get into my protein feeders. I changed to a 20% L&E protein feed and now nothing but deer eat it. Not sure what's in the L&E that the varmints and birds don't like but it started as soon as I started using L&E.

Birds or coons? Are you mixing corn with it? If so...stop now grin Do you have a TC set on it to see what is causing the problem?
welcome
