Thinking bout getting some type of blower/hopper to fill corn and protein feeders. Not looking for the3 ton types. Maybe something with about a 250 pound hopper. Any suggestions? Thanks

Unless its one of the newer ones that are costly..I would save my money IMHO..

we used to have 3 feeders filled while Mutt and Jeff from Austin would be getting Yard Blowers, PVC Pipe and putting a puzzle together roflmao

I have heard about using PVC pipe and a leaf blower ... appears pretty easy to make.

I have one just like in the video. I have pens around my feeders and with me being the great physical shape I'm in, it works great. Beats the he&& out out of lifting the bags over the pen and up the ladder. I back my truck up to the trashcan and pour them in. Not as fast as getting my SIL to do it but when I'm there by myself, its the best way to do it. I actually bought mine off Craigslist from an attorney in Ft. Worth for 90 bucks I think it was. You could build it cheaper. Instead of using a regular "T", use a plumbers "T" like you'd put under the toilet. It forces the air from the blower a little harder up the pipe. I have a 14' pipe I use to get the corn in the feeder. Blower needs to be 200 CFM minimum.

It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance.

Where are you located at? What size protein feeders do you have? If you are close to a feed store that offers filling your feeders, might check into that avenue.

A crank up feeder would probably be much easier and cheaper option not to mention faster and quieter.

I am far from a physical specimen but if I ever resort to that to fill my feeders, I will quit. Heck, isn't that why we have kids?

How old are you? I used to feel the same way. Trying to fill 24 corn feeders from 350-1,000 pounds each and 11 one ton protein feeders by bag is a ton of work. At 45, I could do it all day for several days in a row. At 55, not so much. I bought one of the tandem axle blower wagons and a 14 ton silo. Filling feeders is a breeze now and I don't come home beat to heck. Plus, I have no kids to help.

The blowers will work, but be advised, they build up a static charge if you use pvc pipe.

Fouz. quit being a wuss. Me and my 16 yo., daughter would fill 5,000 lbs a day when I was 61. She'd open the bags and I would climb those darned ladders. Had to do some ranches by hand because the trailer wouldn't go to where those feeders were.

I'm 45 so maybe my day is coming. However, my son will be 10 this year so by the time I reach 50, he will be going up the ladder and I will be doing the cutting open. banana
