If they have as much trouble with that timer as they do their spinners on roadfeeders, I would not take one if it was given to me.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Yes. I have one that's been in service for 2 years now. The timer was iffy and had to be replaced after about 9 months. Also, be aware that you will need a good battery and you have to occasionally oil/WD40 the shaft or it will bind up with corn dust and not throw at all. I won't buy another one, but the thing does close up completely after it throws, unlike the Primos Vaults that lose spring tension and won't.

I looked at them awhile back, but there weren't many reviews talking about having longevity. For close to the same money, take a look at the sunslinger.

i run the 12V units on all my feeders and they work great! just spray the spring with some WD-40 every time you fill the feeder and they'll last forever!

My buddy upgraded all of his spinners with the silver 12v spinners. Those things have been awesome. Been feeding 2x /day for about a year and haven't had a single issue.
Thanks for the tip, wreckem! We will start spraying them with wd40 that as well.

Yes live the worm screw, I've gone through two motors in 3 years on the same feeder. They still threw but the locking mechanism malfunctioned to where they would lock back up tight so the coons could empty them. Again, these are the 6 volt, would not recommend. Have other feeders with Texas Hunting Products motors, running 4 years strong.

I've had one on my road feeder for 6 years without any problems as long as worm screw stays lubed

I switched all my feeders to the 12v and mounted a solar panel directly to the metal box. I have had one feeder going for 4 years, year around on the same battery.

I had the 6V plastic unit, needless to say it didnt last long. Timer issues and the spring unit jamming up. No more for me.
