Every so often I enjoy seeing some of the other night hunting videos and the Brits do some interesting stuff, often with cobbled together home made stuff and sometimes with some really good gear. I have found that I like the "Rhotting" (ratting) videos. I don't know why, but there is something interesting about watching those guys pick off rat after rat in barns or barnyards using NV and air rifles. Not finding any hogs, I stepped it up a notch...

It is a tad pricy at a buck per factory round. I will have to find some cheaper accurate ammo to try this again. cheers

cheers When things get slow, i grab me bb gun & choot wasps, unable ta down load vid... Got pretty good with ne blowgun chooten water bugs...
Edit: they make mounts for bb guns for NV or Thermal ? Had talked ta some one bout pudding NV on a crossbow, they said it can't be done.... i think it would work... Your thoughts... Think biggest problem would be poachers.. Ogh, with rats gophers & such ya use fractions per oz... flag

And that is the problem with thermal, dfwroadkill. You sometimes miss out on some of the subtle clues about age and sex on these little guys at such distance that you might have been able to determine with a good 25x Nightforce day scope in daylight. Maybe next time...

I put one of my units ( digital, not tube nv ) on my kids crossbow. Works great though we havent shot any pigs with it yet.

Another great video DNS. I have been tempted many times to nail a rabbit or coon while watching a feeder but never a mouse!

Thanks guys! I had a lot of fun making this video. I am glad y'all are enjoying it as well.

Just in case somebody is interested, the "deer" mouse is more specifically and more correctly identified as a white-footed mouse which a different species in the same genus (as explained to me today by a mammalogist who then said that everything in the genus is generically called "deer" mice). Anyway, this gets to the weight issue. How much did it weigh? They usually don't get much more than 1 oz., about 4 times the weight of the bullet used to shoot it.
