I got drawn for one of the Hagerman hog hunts in March. Pretty excited to check out the place for the first time. Who else is going? If you're planning on using a shotgun, what are you running for the non-toxic requirement?

Find some of the HeviShot Hog shells at an Academy in 5 rnd box's for about $5 bux a box. The Sherman store sold out in a couple days last year. Any ??'s call the WMA Mgr Kathy ?Whaley and ask anything you need to know. As I recall you'll have to shoot at a target to prove I'd buy 20/25 round s or more of the HeviShot Hog shells when you find 'em. As on all Federal Refuge WMA's no lead bullets or shot is allowed for anything. About half of the Refuge's 11,700 acres will be in the Hunt area.

Hagarman has waaay too many hogs, and the bag limit on this hunt is all you can kill, and can leave'em lay if you want to, or just pull back straps yadda yadda ...just drag'em out of sight of a Hiking Trail or a road has been the rules in the past. Be prepared to hike a bunch, and in some really soft areas as the lake has just now gone down to "normal levels" in the past few weeks and the ground will still be really soft.

I'd be in this Hunt except we have sold the Texoma House and I'm trying to get ready for the move at the end of March or early April...and still have not found a house to buy yet. Gonna be tight as per usual. Good Luck!
