We have all heard stories that they are around, but I have never seen one in the wild. How many of you have seen a mountain lion in the wild? If so where did you see it?

Yes I saw one in Montague county in about 2003. I saw another as a teenager in NW Arkansas back around 1980.
To be determined

I saw one in South Texas near Mathis and one in San Saba county just a few miles from Pontotoc
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

several on different occasions around the NE portion of Lake Buchanan Burnet County, 1960s/1970s. 1 SE Burnet county late 1980s. There was one reported in Emma Long Park, NW Austin area last weekend, scared the bajebbers out of some hikers but turned out to be a 3D cheetah target from a nearby archery club... LOL STORY

I've seen 3. Once my brother and I were hunting rabbits in the winter and then 20 min later from the cabin window we saw one following our tracks in the snow.

First one was in Lemhi County, Idaho up on Timber Creek outside of Leadore. Walked up on him/her as he was drinking from a puddle.
Second was in Llano county, near Valley Spring. Scared it off a little whitetail doe it had killed. Saw the same one again as I was driving into camp one night. It jumped across the road in my headlights.

Yes. Used to hunt on a buddy's lease 20 miles East of Carizo Springs. A couple years running we would see a big cat that was jet black (mountain lion, Mexican lion??). One year she had some cubs with her. Once she was sitting in the middle of a sendaro about 50 yards from camp. Middle of the afternoon, we could see the cubs playing in the brush. That was the closest we came to shooting her but we didn't want to orphan the cubs. Late at night we would shine flashlights and see lots of eyes shining in the bush; that made you take pause as you were relieving yourself.

Saw one in a dry creek bed along Hwy 287 near Childress nearly 20 years ago. Two different sightings on a hunting lease near Strawn 10-12 years ago. One came up behind me shortly after I had blown a predator call, made kind of a growling/coughing sound and walked away. The other was crossing a small open field.

I saw one in California near Yosemite. We backpacked into an area we where curious about for deer season and where watching herd of about a dozen deer. There where a few small bucks, but nothing of any size had shown up yet. Then all f a sudden, every single deer just vanished. They where there, then we couldn't see them anywhere.
Off to the left on the side of the ridge where all the deer had been, a mountain lion walked all the way across the open ridge. We watched it for about five minutes as it walked/glided across the rocky ground. It was amazing to see how fluid it was. I can't describe it any better then that. There was not jerking like other animals do when they step, it just sort of flowed over the rocks.
Then almost to the second that it walked out of our view, the deer showed up again. It was very strange, almost surreal!!!

in back yard - so of Denton; 2009, and 2012 ; leaped over a 6ft chainlink fence like it wasn't even there; ran off w/a chicken in its jaws after killing & burying several in the leaves. We back up to Pecan Creek - so it's easy for 'em to get around lewisville lake.

Never seen one for sure, saw something one foggy night in Bee County cross the road that could have been a lion. Not 100% sure since I did not get a good look, but it was a cat. That area where I saw this "cat" was in an area where two lions have been killed, one before and one after I saw this "cat". Those two lions that were killed were killed within 3 miles of where I grew up. I have seen tracks on 3 occasions in Live Oak County on family land and once in La Salle County. Hunted in a lot of areas of Texas and lived in several but I have never saw a lion.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

Have place in Carrizo where we say one almost ten years ago. My dad had 2 sightings this year in Carrizo on the county road to the ranch.

I expected way more east texas stories by now, panthers count too...
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Saw one in Caldwell County on a game trail camera a few years back. My uncle spotted some big cat prints along with some smaller ones at the pond near the game trail camera the next week. Locals had seen a momma and her 2-3 cubs nearby that same year.

If ducks had horns I'd probably be a duck hunter. I am a horrible deer hunter. Probably the worst. Ever.

Years ago we were building fence on a place in Throckmorton County. There was one on a nearby hill watching us. It was pretty cool.
