I just bought a 6.5 Creedmoor in the Ruger Precision Rifle and needing a scope. I was thinking the Elliminator but having second thoughts. Any long range guys on here have any suggestions for me.

Thanks Wil

Nightforce shv, vortex viper hslr ffp, sightron si3, or leupold mark 4. NF holds value the best.

I would add to that list the Bushnell Elite Tactical. It's FFP with Mil/Mil as well.

Dangit! If forgot they have some within his budget. I have the Bushy ERS 3.5-21 and it has performed perfectly. It retails at SWFA for $2k, but can be found under $1500 elsewhere.

I've been thinking about that for my new rifle. I have a suspicion I will go back with the PST though

There's better options than the PST if you put just a tad more money on top of PST budget.

In that budget I'd look for a used gen 1 Razor.

They are really nice for the price. Solid scope too.

Seeing lots of good things about them. Burris sells to Fire, Police, and Military at a significant discount. The 3-15X is on my short list for the AR in .308, and pull double duty on the 7 Rem Mag. Night Force SHV F-1 is also on that list.

Second focal plane, though.

Guy I had out yesterday had one. He had to live at 22X magnification, all day. Sure a guy can drop down to 11X, and cut his holds in half, but I'd rather not have to worry about a specific magnification and doing math.

YMMV

Agreed, I was surprised with this one and it is a nice scope for sure.

Weight is killer in that range...it's why I'm running a PST. I can't imagine having a 3lb scope on top of my rifle, 2lb is heavy enough.

I'll probably try a Razor AMD after the intial "must have" purchasing is over...it's a little heavier but not as heavy as the Gen 1 and 2 Razors.

I got a 4-16x50 Burris Elliminator III with a 4in shade. I'll make you a good deal on it.

Constantly check the turrets on a PST to verify they are zeroed before shooting anything. They inadvertently get moved while moving the rifle in and out of a scabbard, and/ or slinging the rifle. That was the biggest problem for me, and I had some ideas to help with it, just never followed through. They are good scopes for the money, and they are some of the lightest in the group with those features.

I have had the same issue with my PST with I am taking it in and out of a scabbard, elevation spinning I was not as worried about as the windage. Which is why I went to the atacr and if/when I upgrade the PST it will have a capped windage turret.
