BigPig, I'm no expert but my 24" varmint barreled Rem. weighs in at about 13 1/4 lbs. with scope. You sure you can get 8-8.5 pre-scope? P_102

Im really wanting the deep twisted triangle fluting on the barrel. If that stillwont get it to the weight I want, then I pick a different barrel contour

My next action will be a GAP Tempest or Badger 2013 with whatever barrel Scott has and likely a MPA chassis.

No idea really. It's the one derrick uses as his in house barrel I believe.

I did see a little special during a hunting show where they showed how they are made, all hand fitted, hand rifled, every single barrel is repeatedly checked before it leaves the factory. I'm sure lots of places do you this, but I was impressed.

Benchmark has been around a while now they are a button rifled barrel company from the Pacific northwest area. Thirdgen usually has some of their barrels in stock.

Action: Brand, bolt face, action length, etc

Trigger:?
Stock: glass or carbon fiber, no chassis
Bottom Metal: ?
Brake:?
Builder:?

Ok. It's my next build. Remember as you list your choices, This rifle will probably be for sale in a year or two, so choose wisely you may get it for a deal.....

No Budget set, within reason $4 - 5K

No Tikka parts whatsoever

The reason I'm asking is I'm not an expert, while looking at actions, I like Surgeon, Deviant, Stiller, Borden, Bighorn. Not sure what bolt face, for Creedmoor, .308??

Stock may be sent to Dallas Airbrush confused2

My first custom is really close to what your looking for in weight.
It is a 6.5 CM
Stiller Horizon Action
22" offset fluting Benchmark barrel not sure of contour
McMillan Gamescout Stock I much prefer my EH-1's over the GS
Leupold MK4 6.5-20X50
So far shoots 120 Amax and 140 Amax one ragged hole have some 143 ELDX coming this week.

The company used to be called Bison Barrels, Which is now our Wyoming branch that does our barrel work. The guys at Bison sold to Ron there at Benchmark I believe about 7 years ago. Them make a really nice product and have the awards to show for it. They Don't market to the end consumer more to the builder. We use them Hill country uses them, MOA uses them and Gunwerks fills in a percentage of their rifles with them. They also do all the muzzle loader barrels for Gunwerks.

Joe at OTM tactical stocks them on and off so I grabbed one in stock. He may still have more of them. Great bunch of guys to deal with too. Typical wait time is 8-14 months on this stock. As to the weight it's not really heavy at all. Compares to your standard mcmillan a5 maybe just a tad heavier.

I have ordered from OTM tactical several times in the past few months and really like them. Their service and communication is excellent if anyone hasn't used them. My 2 cents

While it's my dream build,I don't see it happening unless I win the lottery.Plus,I doubt it would shoot any better than the current 6.5 Creedmoor that I built a few years ago.

Action - American Rifle Co.-Mausingfield action,left handed
Barrel - Brux 24" varmint contour
Trigger - Jewel
Stock - Manners T5A
Optics - Kahles K624i Gen 3 or Vortex Razor Gen 2

I have a hard time thinking about spending $7k+ on a rifle when I can build 3 rifles off factory actions for around the same price that will shoot just as good, they just won't be as nice looking.

My next one really isnt a dream build as much as a necessity. Derrick is getting ready to screw a new Benchmark on my Sako STW because it is toast and bed to a new McMillan

It was around 6 months. I think it could have been faster but I told him I wasn't in a hurry.
