Wow! Had a blast! We have been going to Hunters CREEK RANCH for 5yrs now and this year was the best year I have had down there. All the hogs were huge and very healthy.

By the end of the 1st day hunt I was in the lead of the Big Hog Contest we always have there! The Boar I shot weighed in at 194lbs. About 30 minutes before sunest, a group of hogs came in from the west. There was probably 15-20 of them in the group. I picked out a cool looking brown colored sow and pulled the trigger. The whole group scattered even the one I shot at. So I got out of the blind and went an looked for it. I found her about 25yd into the brush. I pulled her back to some trees and went back to the blind. At HUNTERS CREEK RANCH, you get two pigs (1 over 100lbs and 1 under for $275/day). I was figuring this sow was around 100 pounds. So kept hunting.
Just before it was too dark to see the feeder, another group came in. I picked out the biggest hog there and took the shot. Dropped him in its tracks. When i walked out to check him out..i was impressed at the size.
Got him back to the cleaning station and got him weighed up...came in at 194. (beating another guy in camp's boar of 190 lbs.

We walked the property the 2nd day and saw lots of hogs around the property and even got a couple of them. Then went back out to sit for the evening hunt. I went back to the same box blind. Again, just about 30 minutes before dark a large group of hogs came in. They were all really big hogs, however there was one that HUGE. This huge boar would not come in. It stayed out in the brush and didnt offer any good shots. I thought it would eventually commit and come in to the feeder, but then all of a sudden, it and 2 others broke off from the group and left. I couldnt believe it. So I picked out the a cool white/spotted pig that had some decent cutters and dropped it in his tracks. It weighed in at 176 pounds. Then after dark I had a a group come back in, but every time I dropped my green light on to them, they scattered. I picked out what I thought was about 100 pounder and shot. Muzzle flash and smoke made it hard to tell if I hit it. I walked out and found it laying in the grass. Unfortunately it was only a 40 pounder. I skinned it and kept this one whole to smoke up that way!
The bad news is that after dark, that HUGE pig that left my stand walked by another guys stand and he got it. It weighed in at 240 pounds and was the winner of the Big Hog Contest of our group.

We had a blast at HUNTERS CREEK RANCH this year. We had 7 hunters including 2 kids ages 11 and 13. Our group brought back 18 hogs. We should have had more but a couple guys in our group had trouble getting on the hogs. But, Like I said, its probably the best year Ive had down there over the past 5yrs. The hogs were all big and healthy. Bob was buying hogs from area trappers (he has all the proper licenses) to replace hogs that were getting shot so the next group would have shot opportunities like we had.
Be sure to ask Doreen to make you her Chicken Spaghetti while you are there. Its AWESOME! (*at HUNTERS CREEK RANCH you get meals included in your cost of the hunt. $275/day gets you 2 hogs, 3 meals and lodging included)

We are already looking forward to our NEXT trip down there! Well worth looking into if you are looking for a place to get some pigs!

If you want some information on Hunters Creek Ranch, let me know! I will try and figure out how to post pictures on here! I dont have a photobucket account yet.

Thanks for saving me some hogs! Apocalypse 2016 is in early April. What do you win for bagging the biggest hog?

Each year we all put in $10 or $20 each and the hunter that gets the biggest hog (by weight) wins the pot.

And boy did we leave you some hogs out there! We saw tons of BIG hogs out there the last night and Bob was actually putting in about 12 more the day we were leaving.

How many times have you been to Hunters Creek Ranch Cheetah? We have been going down there from Omaha 5yrs now and love Hunting there!
Be sure to keep us posted on your success there!

I've been going for about 4-5 years. I hunt deer and hogs with them. Gotta try gar fishing with Bob this summer and dove hunting.
I go about 4 times a year. It is two hours from my house. I love the place.

God bless John Wayne!

Man, if I lived 2 hrs from Hunters Creek Ranch, I'd be BROKE! Haha. I too love it there! While sitting in the blind this year, I had a bunch of Dove flying around and it made me think about how fun it would be to Dove hunt down there! And, man where those dove huge!

Bob and Doreen are Great people and really make you feel welcome!
