Very rarely if ever seen in Coke County! We hunted there for two years in the western side of the county, and rancher told us not to expect any.

I used to work on a ranch south of Colorado City. I never saw any mule deer, and never heard people talk about seeing them either. I did see a couple of javelinas, but I think they are pretty scarce in that area too.

I have hunted two properties in Coke for a total of 13 years combined. Never seen a Mule deer or Javi. Have seen a couple of Javis hit on the side of the road near Oak Creek Lake and a few guys have had some game cam pics of them on the place I hunt now though.

I have always heard that what few Mule Deer are in the county are in the south west corner of the county.

the reason coke county has a mule deer season is the Texana ranch down the road from me near Blackwell. They have mule deer on their high fence place. they did a government deal years ago where they traded a ranch in west texas turkeys for mule deer. They have a web site with them on it. That's the only mule deer in coke county.

Shot my first Javi in Coke Co. on the March Ranch in 1983. We hunted that ranch from about '76 to '86 and saw javi's several times. Saw lots of WT, an Axis here and there, but never a mulie. My uncle managed the ranch for 55 years. Claims he saw bear from time to time, but never a mulie.
