I finally picked up an SAA Colt (Reproduction, Uberti).
I am going to be loading for it.
I'm leaning towards the Hornady 250/gr XTP.
Hodgon shows CFE producing some nice FPS. My Hornady Manual doesn't list it.
Anyone have any input?
I'm also open to other suggestions.
Thanks.

On an Uberti repo, I would focus on having fun rather than on velocity. I'd shoot which ever powder was most popular and easiest to find, or which ever burned the cleanest.

The 45 Colt is not that picky on powders. It's a basic straight walled case, so almost any pistol powders will work. You faster burning powders will be good for lighter powder charges with decent velocity. Your slower burning powders will be good for slightly higher speeds, but with a higher powder charge. Trail Boss is a decent powder for a lighter load, but near impossible to find. Since you can not find it, I'd highly recommend a different powder.
