Hunting takes a miniscule toll on population. Way too many other factors to tell.

Season was a good one BTW.

It started off not looking too hot, but about mid November(which normally happens anyway) birds started concentrating a lot better in the area. There was lots of water and lack of cold fronts. Put a little bit of a hinder on the mallards but they still showed eventually and gave some good opportunities.

We shot 50% more ducks per gun this year and 15% more ducks with 1/4 less hunts. Weird year. Started crazy strong and finished mediocre. Weather related. Ducks are here. Had 500+ on my big lake this weekend. They were just not holding at normal holes w all water in N Tx. Less mallards, tons of GWT and red heads- gadwalls late- about 10% ringers- passed on them most hunts.

Flooded fields late season held most big ducks. Food was key call water. Our hole near Hagerman was horrible this year. Limited food. 15 acres didn't matter. Water everywhere. My hole up north had moist soil plants, Jap and Browntop- they were in there like skeeters first month of season.
