Hey all THF members! i am in the early stages of starting up a business selling hunting equipment. I would love all of yalls help with informing me where you buy all of your stuff when you are shopping online? what is your go-to site for buying products? I am wanting this for an idea of website material that i need to have. i will be posting much more questions as time goes on to make sure i build a business the community wants to shop at.

In this order Cabela's, bass pro, academy. But all my trail camera's come from online at Trailcampro.com Why, because I have never had a company stand behind their warenty they way they do. I got a camera, a month later it would only take 6 photo's and then stop. I emailed them and they emailed me back the same day saying, Would I like an upgrade for my 2015 camera or would I like to wait 30 days and they would send me the new 2016 model. That's the way to run a company and grow a business. Any chance of me buying a camera somewhere....NO!.

Online @ Cabela's for 99% of my purchases. Anything last minute it's Academy, at least until the new Cabela's storefront opens here in League City.

Mr T., making our customers lives easier and staying true to our warranty is one of our main focus points and will hopefully be part of our competitive advantage!

I was being a wise guy in reference to this:
Facebook Whine

My wife will show me a few FB Pages that will occasionally have hunting items for sale, but its rare - they're usually secondhand and I don't use to FB to shop.
I'm an Academy, Cabelas, BPS guy in that order as that is their proximity to my house.

HuntnFly67, good information to know, we are currently trying to decide if we want to be closer to the customers or more on the outskirts of town. Both have good advantages but more feedback like that could help us decide

kdkane1971, I have no complaints with Cabela's online store, I have bought 4 expense fly rods from them. I did break one taking it out of the package and they said I would need to talk to the manufacturer about it. Manufacturer covered it for $20 shipping...a $600 rod.

Sportsman Guide, Academy, Cabelas, and Bass Pro (no real order, all about the same). Usually 100% online at all except Academy, I like to walk around in Academy because the wife likes the store as well.

Cabela's and Academy. I have a rope/deer drag thingy I bought at Gibson's in Fredericksburg around 1976. There's still Gibson's in Kerrville and it's pretty dang cool.

I used to buy online with sportsmans guide for a lot of my supplies and a lot of the supplies I provide for hunters in my business.

During the last ammo crunch a few years back I ordered a few thousand rounds of ammo just before prices skyrocketed. So, they put me on back order. And left me there for 1.5 years. AND, they sent me an email each month stating that the ammo was still back ordered and that if I didn't respond by a certain date, they'd cancel my order.

I called several times trying to insure them that I wanted the ammo no matter how long it took. They stuck with their MO of not fulfilling the order and counting on me not remembering to re-up the order. Went to Europe and didn't use my phone and let the order "expire".

My advice to you, is don't follow that MO. They lost a lot more than the mark up on that ammo when they lost my business.

90% on-line with Cabelas being 70-80% of the total. If I buy locally it will be Academy or Walmart or Feedstore.
