I'm in the market for a few new blinds and it's been awhile since I've looked at what's out there. Size wise I'm looking at least 4x6 and I do want fiberglass for sure. Tower height from 8-10 ft ish. Any words of wisdom? Would appreciate any ideas on the best out there on the market these days.

If you're in the market for a fiberglass blind I would definitely look for one that already has rain drips installed. I bought a T box a few years ago & learned of the importance of rain drips above the windows. At the time it was the best price out there, but I got what I paid for because it started leaking through the walls as well. This past off season a good friend of mine also bought one, but wound up putting a couple of R-panels for a roof with an overhang to compensate for the lack of rain drips. I wish I would have thought of that prior to standing mine 15' in the air. There's also a company that makes deer blinds between Johnson City & Marble falls. I can't remember the name but it's something along the lines of extreme supply & appear to be quality made blinds. Good luck

I have a T-box with the same water problem. Did your friend just attach the R-panels directly on the fiberglass roof?

AFDLT- he sure did, but on the inside he liquid nailed 2ea 1x4x6' on each side to screw into.. I think each R-panel was cut to 34", then a ridge cap in the middle.. Works like a charm

I went with a 4x6 on a 10 foot base. The blind maker was Redneck Blinds. I think I have 3 years on it now, and other than the occasional drip, the inside stays dry. The windows have excellent rubber seals and a built in drip ledge above the window. The door has a good rubber seal also, though something has been slowly chewing off the exposed rubber (buzzards or squirrels) around the edge of the door. With the design of the door edges though, even when they nibble off all the exposed rubber, bugs and critters won't be able to get in.

The blind wasn't cheap, but it sure was money well spent. It was delivered by truck, but be sure they send a truck with a lift gate. The base was easy to assemble, and once I figured out the proper 'front to back', I attached the blind box to the base. Standing it up was easy, following the UTube video directions. One guy, with a tractor, UTV, truck, etc, can stand it up, but better to have a buddy or two helping. I think that it could be stood up by 6 or so guys, because it's quite light. It will be necessary to anchor it down solidly.

I bought two of the 5 1/2' X 5 1/2' Dillon Mfg. blinds last year. I already had two of the 4' X 6' blinds, but I like the new ones much better. I arranged to have them made to my specs and they are great. Built a square tubing frame to elevate them five feet. They have a travel trailer type door, windows that hinge up and driprails. In really freezing weather your windows might freeze shut if it's right after a rain, but I just crank up the heater and the windows open directly. Pricey, but what fiberglass blinds aren't ? Tractor supply sells them, but I talked directly to the owner to make sure mine were ordered right.

just build one yourself so you can customize it how you want it. I am no carpenter but mine turned out fine. Plenty of designs online
