I have a small ranch near London Texas. 50 acres with a 1800 square foot home and barn. Listed at $215M. We settle for a little less. Really good whitetail hunting as I have been feeding year round. Have two 10 foot blinds up and a 6 foot blind that are evenly spread on the property. Water well. Furnished. Everything stays there but a few personal hunting items. call me if interested. 8322747433

You gotta have a comma missing or something in your price. Nobody is going to pay two hundred and fifteen million for 50 acres.

The Roman numeral M is often used to indicate one thousand, and MM is used to indicate one million. For example, an expense of $60,000 might appear as $60M. Sales of $3,000,000 might be written as $3MM. Internet advertisers are familiar with CPM which is the cost per thousand impressions.

Looking on Lands of Texas, a couple of 160 acre plus properties with smaller houses are listed at $4100-4300 per acre. 215K for a 50 acre property with a bigger house should be in the ball park.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

Even $2.5 million is way out of line for a little 50 acre place, but $250 million? How big of a "SUCKER" is he hoping to find? $250 million will buy a real ranch with serious acreage, not just a little spot of acres.

In Finance M denotes Thousand, and MM denotes Million. For what it is, it doesnt seem out of market at all. Within 1.5hr from major metro area (SA). Has all the amenities people want, and in hill country. My buddy just sold his grandparents place by Kerrville. he inherited 80 ac, nice house 3/2.5, good fences, 2 wells, and working pens for north of 15k an acre in his pocket.

But in common practice, no one uses M for thousands, but K. As in, 215K miles, or even $215K.

I just don't understand why the poster has not bothered to check THF since he has posted the land for sale and cleared all this up.

In Finance it is common practice you never use K for thousands. Im guessing he has a finance or accounting background. Also, if you were to apply for a loan the lender would use the M and not the K notation. On my resume since i have commercial lending experience i use M and MM

He probably isnt a participating member from the looks of things.

Got it, but finance isn't common practice. It's a specialty. In common language, like what's used on this forum, no one uses M and MM like you're suggesting. It's not in the common vernacular.

Actually, it used to be M meant 1000 and everyone knew that. Then digital computers came along and K (1024) started being used for 1000. Now few remember the old way.

Great area. I wouldn't mind a place like that to hunt and live.

I do have something posted for sale and I check back twice an hour. He's never checked back since posting.
But here's mine if anyone is interested and I promise to check back and reply to anyone with a question.
