I'm thinking of stocking up on some brass for my ARs. Midway has LC 5.56 and also LC 223 (stamped American Eagle) for about $.20 each.

Processed LC once fired is $.16 at Texas Brass Works.

What's the difference, if any, between LC 5.56 and LC 223 with AE headstamp?

I'm inclined to pay a little more for the new LC, unless the processed stuff is likely to be more uniform. Suggestions here?

You'll have to do something about primer crimps if you buy once fired LC.

I doubt there's any difference at all between the .223 and 5.56 brass made by LC (or whoever makes it).

So it is. Good price...I'd buy it if I was shopping for it.

I have 5 gallon buckets full of 223 brass. If you were close I'd give you a bunch.

Processed brass is very hit and miss I have found, like not swaged a lot of the time. Just easier to do it yourself.

I do have quite a bit of 223 brass to process myself, I was just looking to get a new batch of uniform head stamp to use this year. I've just been too busy/lazy to keep up with brass prep, especially trimming.

I think I'll either buy 1000 pieces of new LC or just process what I already have and use it.
