A while back I was contacted by THF member "nsmike" about doing a Loveless style knife. Mike had a pic of a somewhat rare Loveless Hunter that we both thought would make a good project. We discussed steels and other details and ended up with this knife based on that pic. It's done in 154 cpm stainless with a blade length of just over 4", a tapered tang and ivory micarta handles with red liners. Hope you like it Mike.

and here's the original Loveless that Mike wanted to use as our model

Wow! A work of art and a knife that should last for generations.

I'm looking forward to receiving it. I've wanted a Loveless style knife for a long time. I had PMed David about possibly ordering one some time after Christmas and discussed some details and pricing. When my wife wanted to know what I wanted for Christmas I told her about the knife I was thinking of ordering after Christmas. She told me to find out how much, when I told her, she told me to order it, on Christmas I got a check from her and another from my adult daughter that covered the cost. David and I were on the same page almost immediately with the only detail that was extensively discussed was a traditional steel vs a newer super steel.

On the original Loveless, is that checkered wood?

Canvas Micarta, also the original is 3 5/8 in. long, it would make a heck of an EDC.

I'd like to update everyone now that I've received the knife. The handle material is indeed ivory color it appears brighter in the photos. In the hand it feels like an extension of my body. I've never had a knife that felt so good in the hand. I guess it's a testament to Bob Loveless's genius at knife design and Davids interpretation.

Here's a shot of my Loveless made by Beretta, posed with my Ruger #1 .22-250. So far, I have processed about 20 deer with the knife..It still looks new.
