Heard of it and heard second hand info that it's a tough hunt but the pricing is good. I was told it can take a trip or two to figure out the better places to hunt. Was also told find water and take corn, don't rely on their feeders but that guy made numerous trips and may still go every year. It has peaked my interest so hopefully some with first hand experience chime in.

Alfalfa as well. Pop ups aren't going to work unless you brush them in really well. Short tripods and ladders set up in live oaks and thick brush.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Anybody been when it wasn't one of the "Special" hunts, where 30-50 people show up on the same weekend? From the reviews I've found, seems like most of them went on the "Special" hunts and didn't have much luck. Do they over hunt the place? Would seem hard to do, with 23000 acres.

I use to do the special hunts but will never go back. I was told by the ranch owner that if he gave me advice, he would have to help everyone. I thought the idea was to have successful hunters but not there. Save your time and money... 40 hunters and 0 animals

I went on a "special" hunt when I went. That's been over a decade ago I guess. I would lay odds I don't go back.

I wouldn't be going on the "special" hunt. It would be mid week and guided. That many hunters there at the same time...I bet the animals just sit tight all weekend and wait for all the hunters to go home. Found quite a few people on TBH that go every year and really enjoy it. Most of the bad reviews are from people that went when 20-50 guys were there hunting the DIY "special" with trucks/atv's driving everywhere...usually bow hunting also, since it's cheaper.

It is way over hunted, very few actually get lucky. There is a HF there as well, odds are better there. I will never go back.

Guys defend the place like it was their own. And the ones that go year after year know the better pastures, line up early at the gate and do get an animal or two. But having forty hunters in camp, a couple axis doe and maybe a buck killed, and most everyone else not even seeing one is not a good deal to me. And I prefer archery hunts so price is not the deciding factor for me.

I replied to your PM DropTine.

If you decide to go, good luck.
