What do you think of the Anderson Lower Receivers? How do they compare to other brands?

Most forged lowers are the same other than markings.

AR snobs don't like them because they are cheap.

I used one on my last build, the fit & finish is just as good as any other forged lower.

My understanding is there are only a few sources for the forgings, however, many sources for the machining and this might be an area to review. Mil-spec tolerances are fairly loose and some of the higher end companies can hold tighter tolerances were it matters.

I have helped a few buddies build their lowers. The Andersons work fine, the only thing I have found is you have to be very very careful and tape them up good because the finish is very thin and will mark easy.

I bought a lower from Runner Runner out of Tx for just a little more than an Anderson.

I've used Anderson and they seem fine, no problems what-so-ever. I myself prefer the Aero Precision receivers more. Their upper and lower seem to fit very nicely and the new lowers have the tipped set screw to adjust the wiggle factor, better then the little red rubber wedgie thing. If leaving black, the finish holds up nice also.

I used an Anderson lower on two AR pistol builds with Karris uppers. Very solid and tight so far and I will report back if that changes
