Been kind of slow in this forum now that deer season is over, so I thought I would post a few old photos.
These were all taken around the house here. I haven't seen any of these deer in about 7 or 8 months. One
doe had twin and one was normal color and one was slightly melanistic.

I know a guy that had a melanistic buck mounted that he shot near San Marcos. There seems to be a lot of them around there.

I have been watching these deer out here for 26 years and have never seen a good melanistic buck. I often wonder if it
is something in there genetics that prevents that.

Hope you do find one someday and take it with Papaw's rifle.
