Interested in getting a game camera for my dads place that will send pics/vido right after it takes them to your cell phone or email. Im a little confused about the whole process of getting it set up. What is the process of purchasing and setting up a game camera that sends live pics/video to your phone/email?
How much does a game camera thats capable of this technology cost?
How much per month would it cost?

Fast paced gregarious society forgets the healing power of solitude. It's worked thousands of years. Casting a line/gazing into a campfire/sitting in a blind after a long week is medicine for the soul. The serenity and peacefulness of it all is majestic.

Typically you have to get another cell phone line set up for texting and it be able to get service where your located. I think only AT&T does it but I may be wrong. I don't have any, just trying to remember what I've read on here in previous conversations. I think initial cost of the cameras are $150+

On HCO products you can add a line to your T-Mobile or AT&T account or just purchase a SIM card and minutes. Price range on camera is $250 and up depending on features. Getting the SIM card set up can be tricky so take the camera in to the cell store with you. If you are not adding a line it is best to spend $100 on minutes they are good for a year. The less you spend the sooner they expire if not used. If you add a line some will allow a data only plan for around $10 per month. (Or used to)

The camera has several setting you can utilize at set up on the entry line cameras. The more advanced cameras will allow you text changes in settings from your cell phone.

I've got a couple of Covert Black Ops cams. They cost me nine bucks and change each per month. I have a great old AT&T family plan. The easiest way to program the SIM is to use an old flip phone, activate that, easy, and swap the SIM to the cam. Done

Around 3 bills each...

Just make sure the location you have in mind has cell coverage. I wanted to do it, but most of the places I want it don't have service.

I use to HCO Spartan cams that come with SIM cards. It is easy to buy data for them and costs me $25 for 3 months. The cameras work wonderfully (the past 9 months) and the only complaint I have with them is the solar panel you can buy for them is not great.

I set up an extra gmail account for the pics and they come to my phone day or night through the gmail app on my phone.

Could you show us an example of the picture quality from this camera?

I have used many brands of regular trail cameras and none would work for over a year. I finally switched to Bushnell Trophy cams a few years ago with excellent results. Then about 1 1/2 years ago I bought my first Bushnell Trophy Cam wireless. It works great. You must have cell phone service at the place where you want to put the camera or it will not work. I have AT&T for my cell phone but you buy the plan direct from Bushnell for $9.99 a month forb1000 photos. You can have pictures sent to the Bushnell app on your cell phone or they can be texted or emailed as well. The camera works great both day and night and has long battery life. You can get them on Amazon for $350 to $500 depending on the website for the same camera. I just bought my second one on Amazon for $350 last month. Both cameras are sending me pictures every day and work Great! You must have cell service where you put the camera or forget it!

Sweet. Thanks for the responses. My dad is terrible with technology so I'll have to look into the simplest way to get it set up.
