I had 2200 seedlings planted last Sunday. If they make it my 4 year old and I will have a heck of a spot in a few years. It's a mixture of Sawtooth Oaks, Shumard Oaks, Cherry-bark Oaks, Water Oaks, Native Pecans and Persimmons.
Can you tell me what it is that the gentleman is sitting on & planting the saplings? I ask because my stepfather is planting 16,000 hardwood seedlings on a reclamation property this weekend. He uses a crew from Guatamala & they do it by hand, using a very simply spade-like tool. For those who are curious, he paid about 30 cents per 18-24" sapling.

Looks good. make sure you kill the grass around the trees. I lost half my trees when I planted in a bahiagrass pasture. Grass will suck water and nutrients. Please keep us posted on progress. Good luck.
