I had 2200 seedlings planted last Sunday. If they make it my 4 year old and I will have a heck of a spot in a few years. It's a mixture of Sawtooth Oaks, Shumard Oaks, Cherry-bark Oaks, Water Oaks, Native Pecans and Persimmons.

2200 seedlings - how long did that take you ?

I am going to seed about 200 post oaks and a few fruit trees -
and that seem like a lot of work already

I don't do the planting myself. It took the guys 2 hours. I followed them around and took pictures.

I don't have a fence around the trees. I am more worried about hogs and gophers than anything.

I'm planning to do something similar on my place. Can you post the information for the company you used and location?

Can you tell me what it is that the gentleman is sitting on & planting the saplings?
I ask because my stepfather is planting 16,000 hardwood seedlings on a reclamation property this weekend. He uses a crew from Guatamala & they do it by hand, using a very simply spade-like tool. For those who are curious, he paid about 30 cents per 18-24" sapling.

the 4 year old should enjoy it when he is older for sure. Those persimmons will be deadly bait.

Looks good. make sure you kill the grass around the trees. I lost half my trees when I planted in a bahiagrass pasture. Grass will suck water and nutrients. Please keep us posted on progress. Good luck.

Outstanding. This is the best time of year to plant trees and shrubs.

I would probably put a small wire fence around them until they get established. Good luck. up
