Waffles, I actually have 2 Savages. One is a Precision Carbine in 223 which is very similar to the FCP 10 but without the extended capacity. Has a 20" heavy barrel, Accustock & Accutrigger. The other is the new model stainless lightweight in 308. It has a #2 profile pencil barrel, cheap stock, Accutrigger and weighs 5.5 lbs. Both are extremely accurate with everything I've feed them. They are the least picky rifles I own and shoot better than I can. I've had very good luck with Savage although I've never take them hunting. Lately, I'm usually hunting with my Ruger 338 Federal.

I hunt with the Scout rifle version of the rifle, the 10FCM, I have both the 308 Win and the 7.62x39, they are an outstanding rifle. My range here on my ranch is only 300 yards but that isn't an issue for this 20" barrelled little brother of the 10FCP. In fact, even with the 7.62x39, I have this "thing" that I do with the rifle and it's receiver sights. I sit down with the rifle and bang the gongs at 100, 200, 250, and 300 yards just as fast as I can cycle the bolt! Everyone loves pictures and living here on the ranch I could post dozen of pictures like this... I have a post here concerning the mule deer I killed out at the Elephant Mountain WMA with the 308 Win. I shot the deer standing without a rest, using the Savage scout sling, at 171 yards. The bullet hit the POA.
