So I just had a stuck round from a Buffalo Bore 45 Auto +P 255gr hard cast. Got it unstuck but it was a bitch and so I tried putting several of these rounds in a bare chamber after I tore the weapon down and cleaned the chamber which really wasnt dirty. The actual round that was stuck acted exactly like the others and couldnt tell any difference on that particular round All of the Buffalo rounds were tight and would not sit down flush in the chamber. Granted I have fired 10 rounds of these in the past and they shot fine and I have loaded these up on every hunting trip this year so at least 5 or 6 times these rounds have been in the chamber with no problems. When I place another brand like Federal in they fit perfectly and flush and definitely looser. I know you guys who reload a lot might be able to clue me in on what the deal is on these Buffalo Bore . thanks!!

weird, you might get a chamber checker, or take the barrel out of your H&K, see in the rounds will drop in "clean" I've seen the dang different primer sizes on .45 ACP, major PIA for reloaders but never see what you are going through, maybe the Germans chamber em tighter??

Its not the gun it is the ammo As I drop them in these buffallo bore are most definitely tighter fitting in the chamber than the much looser fitting federal 230 grainers. Could that be because of the bigger bullet size being a hard cast 260 grain? Maybe the bullets push on the outside and make the diameter of the casing bigger?

That's a possibility. Some .45-cal jacketed bullets measure .451" and Buffalo Bore may be loading bullets sized to .452 inch.

Check the overall length of the cartridge and/or measure the length of the brass as compared to the Federal ? Grasping at straws

Have you always chambered the same round on these 5-6x, or maybe alternated between only two rounds? Check the length of the round that is hanging up. I wonder if the bullet has backed out just a hair from repeated chambering and not allowing the case to headspace correctly. Just a thought.

no I have about 30 or so of these rounds left after firing 10 test rounds that get shuffled around and loaded and unloaded in my mags.
I think redriver hit it on the dot. these are .451 or .452 most likely. I am not a reloader so I am not sure if there is any benefit to that or if it is just a case of fitting the bullet in the brass
Now I am a little hesitant to load these up again. I guess I just need to make sure I keep a clean chamber for those rounds. I hadnt really scrubbed that chamber with a brush in probably 350 rounds now that I think about it.
Thanks guys!

I'm thinking loaded round is expanding case. Use good calipers and measure several buffalo bore loaded case's. Compare to your Federals. Sounds like they swell from the bullet you are using. Why such a heavy bullet? Bear hunting? If you reload then you'll resize the case and all should be fine.

I only put them in when I go hunting. I am always looking for pigs in the SHNF so they are in my sidearm just in case.
You can never have enough stopping power for pigs and most of my hunting trips are solo trips stalking or looking for pigs.
I do not reload. I am trying to learn from you guys about what is going on. I thought tolerances were much tighter than that but assuming only does 2 things.

are those buffalo bore steel cased? I stick with brass cased rounds in my .45s. I have had trouble with steel after the barrel heats up so avoid them

Amo manufacturers to have mess ups like anything else. Call Buffalo Bore and see what they say.
Over the years I have had several instances where I bought ammo and a few out of the box etc wouldn't chamber well or at all.
