I'm gonna buy a new hunting scope, and I already have some FFP scopes but had a questions about SFP. The scope I want has a simple reticle but it has an easily adjusted elevation turret. (SHV with IHR reticle)
My question, in a SFP scope, do the turret clicks adjust the same amount regardless of magnification? I know that you can only range with SFP and the reticle holdovers only work if at a certain magnification. I've just read so much that I've confused myself. Will one click be the same if I'm on 4 power as it will on 14 for example? I've just never had a SFP scope that I'd consider making turret adjustments often while shooting, so hoping to get an answer on this. I'd build a chart with clicks for different ranges, and I'd like to be able to use that feature but not sure if I'd have to be on a certain magnification for this.
In my mind it should adjust the same regardless, but if it's 1/4 moa at 100 yards, and then the magnification grows will one click still equal the same since reticle doesn't change.

Yes. It's the same. A 1/4 MOA click is always just that. Since it's moving the center of the reticle, the focal plane doesn't make a difference.

Turret adjustments have no bearing on which focal plane you are using. They will always adjust the same. The difference comes in with your reticle holds. With SFP the reticle is only correct at one magnification setting.
