Anyone know a reasonable place near Houston to get an alligator tanned? I found a place in Houston that is 115 a ft but I don't know if that's a reasonable price or not, seems high. I know there is a lot that goes into the process though. Any info is helpful

That's about what it runs. Had it done several years ago and it was 80 a foot.

A friend of mine Laura Lewis does them in Crosby NE side of houston, around $75 sq', she does great work on just about all taxidermy

I had my 11'7" gator tanned at American Tanning and Leather.. http://www.amtan.com/It ran me $475 total. They did a fantastic job.

Your price point of $115 a foot doesn't seem out of line. There is a lot of work involved in the process of tanning a gator.
Specialty Leather In Boone, IA has tanned several hides for me and they do a fantastic job. These guys will process to your specs based on what you want to do with the final product.
