I made a knife for my dad and a knife for my brother for Christmas. These were my first attempts at knifemaking. This is the one I made for my brother. It is from an old file with mesquite scales and brass pins. It turned out OK but being my first, it could have been a lot better.  The one I made for my dad is made from an old farriers raspand is about 12 inches long. It has walnut scales and brass pins. It turned out better than I could have hoped.
