Hi, I am looking for a 2 person tree stand. But I have some problems. I hunt national forest land and treestands cannot be left longer than 24 hours so I don't need anything permanent. I was thinking about a 2 person hang on or a 2 person climber if that exists. I'd like to have a stand that I can take apart to transport it through the woods. My only option is to have a 2 person stand, my girlfriend is wanting to go hog hunting with me and the day I put her in a stand alone is the day I will no longer need a 2 person stand. If anyone knows where I can find such a thing please let me know.

Never seen a 2 person hang on or climber. I'm for sure a 2 person climber doesnt exists. Id say just get 2 climbers and sit in close trees to each other.

Why not just go with a pop up blind? I know you can get 2 people in those.

I'd like to use a pop up blind but my hog spot is in the middle of a palmetto swamp. And as far as 2 trees beside each other, the trees in the swamp that are safe enough for a tree stand are sparse. Any ideas on converting a normal stand into a hang on?

I wouldn't want to modify a stand. Seems dangerous. Looks like you need a different spot for 2 people.

The top section is a little bulky, but not that heavy. The girlfriend could carry the ladder sections while you carry the top. You could skip one ladder section and put it up only about 10 feet. There is also a skirt that can go around the bottom for a bit of concealment. It holds two adults just fine and is easy to lean against the tree, then scoot up and loop the safety strap.

I have two of the game winner tandem tree stands and they are sturdy enough for two grown men. They do suggest having three grown men to hang them on the tree and I agree with them. I have put them up with my brother and it was not an easy task. I have put them up with 3 guys and it was fairly easy. The parts are not light and it would be difficult for your girlfriend to carry the ladder and depending on the distance, the top will not be easy for you to carry in a thick, swampy area.

Take a machete and just cut some shooting lanes. Be a lot easier than hauling a 2 man ladder stand and setting it up every time you go. Or like somebody mentioned, 2 hang ons, one low, one high and a set up climbing sticks.

cutting limbs or plants or otherwise altering the
landscape used to be a great big no-no on public
land. you might check first, but i'm sure it still is.
same for any stand that damages the bark on a tree.

I like the idea on setting up a pop up blind on a trail leading into the palmettos. The palmetto patch is about 1.5miles by 1 mile, it's huge. Any tips on luring hogs to me without baiting? Not sure if they would really respond to squealing or not.

It's also about a 4 mile walk through a lot of thick woods and some swampy areas, so I'd rather not have to carry anything too heavy

eeks333 4 miles back in ? Should have mentioned thar in this post, puts whole new meening to this post... Tip my cowboyhat ta your girl friend... hunt solo on the WMA for my hog hunts, usual 2-3+ miles back in as crow flies when shooting back-asmith ta parking area, tis a lot shorter than walking trails... Like said in first post & many times in PHF thick out of the way places, were most others won't go, can be honeyholes... up you already new that.... Area's like that what worked best for me twas pudding one foot in front of de udder ... Action can be fast, & you'll have ta know were your partner is at all times... Keep my shots to close range, even when by myself, others might know of same area... Tis always safer & easier with two... Some times all ya see is the leaves moving at point blank range... Would make a ground blind, if gonna sit & wait instead of the two two person stand... Looking forward ta hearing more... Best wishes, & hunt Safe... flag

Squealing generally means danger/pain/distress. That usually is NOT want you want to use to attract hogs.

cheers When the WMA opened up down the road, still had a deer lease just 45 minutes from house, so after work could still get few hours of hunting in... After deer season hit the WMA for the hog only, any legal means... Would see plenty of hog sign walking trails... From my caveman days on my first lease... Learned hogs were mostly nocturnal, empty a bucket with PVC pipe inta T of 50lbs of corn in a night... After the deer season was over did the night hunts, a person has better eye sight than hogs, & easing threw woods with out NV ya can hit some thick briars quick & have ta try manovering around it... rofl tis a different world in de jungle at night... Tis why many times have said on texasHF i don't recomend it...
Wasn't worried bout the hogs getting me rofl twa the getting stuck in the briars, & trying ta manover around it, snakes & such...
When got 1-2 miles back in as crow flies, by trail some times can double it... Would slow down get off trails, & would see if at right time 30-40+ hogs in a sounder... Archery hunts with chain on or climbing stands, didn't hit way back in, found closer out of way areas were hogs litterly tore it up, yet very seldom seen hogs... Even closer hunting areas didn't see other hunters... If you going 4 miles back in you should see plenty hogs, have been seeing fewer & fewer hogs over the years... They opening up ATV Trail on east side, easier access... & the draw hunts, they recomend ATV if ya have one... As pappy once said: finding hogs twas the easy part, twas work getting em out ... Back pack, didn't bother with gutting, was fastest & easiest way.... Had several videos in PHF ... All them years of foundry work pudda a toll on this ol soul.... They cared more about insurance prices, rofl how bad times are.... i worked so could aford ta hunt... Even with the alien body parts still enjoyed me walk-a-bouts, tis good exercise... What your doing tis not for every body... Have given out invites on here, rofl with worning, tis not for every body ... Ya can call me muyloco crazy just don't call me lazy... cheers This thread brings back some great memmories... flag
