that's butternut squash? not just regular old yellow squash? interesting!!!

my wife made stew last weekend in the crock pot using venison ... looked similar to yours (other than the whatever kind of squash you used and no bacon). I might have to try with those sometime!

The yellow squash won't stand up in a stew. I use them in soup and they nearly disappear.

that's kinda what I was thinking on the yellow squash but just going on appearance... didn't look like butternut to me.
