On December 23 I went by to see the guys at Alamo to inquire about getting a rifle cut down. Nobody was there, and no signage posted about hours of operation, or when they would be back. Also nothing posted on their website. I came on here and was a little critical of them because of that. Well, turns out, they have a Facebook page that they keep up with, and it had all of their hours of operation for the holidays listed there, and I posted, retracting my criticism.

Fast forward a week or so, and I finally got in to get my barrel cut down and threaded, and have a brake put on. They were very nice in the shop, and the head gunsmith really seemed to know his stuff.

After a couple of days I got an email from them saying that the factory barrel I was having cut and threaded was too skinny to thread to the size of the brake. He gave me a couple of options including using a different thread pitch, but ultimately I decides not too thread it after all, as this barrel will eventually be replaced next year, and decided not to spend the extra money on it.

Communication was always quick. Never having to wait more than a few hours for an email response. And the work, though it was simple, and likely something any competent gunsmith could do, was very clean, and looks really great.

Lol, definitely not. 16.5" with the bolt closed. I don't have the bolt right now to prove it with a picture. But I checked.

Not sure what everybody is freaking out about. It's definitely not a SBR.

Had me worried for a second. I had to break the tape measure out a second time to be sure lol.

Yes it is. I posted pics of that on Saturday. Couldn't be happier with the work y'all did.

If anybody needs a gunsmith. Derrick at horizon and the guys at Alamo were both top notch on work quality and customer service. But derrick really went above and beyond (and probably severly undercharged me based on all the issues this stock had when they got it, and put a rush on it).

Naw, too thin. I'm planning on sending this one to you for a rebarell at some point anyways.
