For a few years I never thought about weighing or even keeping up with numbers but then I started weighing all the bigger ones and taking pictures of almost all of them. Each time I thought I had a possible 50 pounder I have been disappointed. Killed a bunch in the mid 40 pound but have not gotten the 50 mark yet. Here are 4 killed in about 20 minutes that all went over 40lbs. Having killed and been in on killing hundreds of coyotes I do remember one I called and a friend shot that might have weighed 50 lbs but we never thought to weigh it. Always wished we would have taken the time that day to carry it home and weigh it.

I've killed 50-60 a year for the last 5 years and still haven't got that 50lb coyote.

I never took the time to weigh one, had a few that seemed big, but will never know. I handle them as little as I can, I don't care for the fleas.

51 lbs. Got him a few years back while deer hunting. A cow had dropped a calf right behind my tripod earlier that day. Right at sun down, I looked back and saw this guy within a couple yards of the calf, hopping around trying to get a visual on the calf in the tall grass. Swung around and dropped him in his tracks. Took it to the land owners place to weigh it. Guy said they had shot a 56 lb yote in that same area a couple years back.

Most of the coyotes I've shot were 25 to 30 pounds, but a year or so I got one that was way bigger than usual. He weighed an even 50 pounds. since then, all small ones.

This guy goes for volume, not by size.
