What is a'll choice for prairie dog's? Range is from rock chunkin to 450yds. Shooting from off hand, knee, trk mirror, hood and a nice high rack with bench.

True that, but it's sitting on top of a real nice .308. Well it will be when I get a set of Derricks picatinny rings pretty soon. I know they can be moved like you described but I'm not all that skilled yet.

It takes five minutes to move from one rifle to the next, and rezero.

I have a friend, who managed to get one at 883. I don't remember the caliber, but hearing the story was very cool. It sounded like it would be a lot of fun.

My farthest hit has been 710 yards with a .22-250, but I think I splashed two before I connected. It's windy every day, and the mirage is usually very thick.

I had to upgrade scopes when I was p-dog hunting in South Dakota so I could be damn sure I could tell difference between p-dog and those pesky burrowing owls. I never did get one that I thought was really suited for the job. I would like to have a nice setup one day because p-dog hunting is super fun.

I don't care about the wind or mirage, I would be more than happy to deal with it.

This one thing I would be caught off guard on, because I have never done it, I wouldn't know what to opt for.

I would think something with a good medium, like the first thing that comes to mind, is the Swarovski 3.5-18X44.
Good low end, and good high mag for longer shots. I really want to test their new X5i I bet the BRM reticle would be very helpful.

As long as its FFP. This past May we killed from 25 yards to 600.

Jason, the new X5, is SFP. They didn't want a tactical scope. This is a long range hunting scope.
