Is anyone shooting the 240. Mine loves the factory 100 grain soft point factory ammo. Gonna try some 105 bergers just wandring if any one has tried them

Every factory 240 I have ever seen had a 1X10 twist barrel which is borderline for 100 grainers. I really think you will find stability issues with the long 105 Bergers unless you have a custom barrel with a faster twist.

Agreed. I would much prefer a 1:8 twist for the longer bullets.

Don't some of the 243 win factory guns come with a 1;10 twist and stabilize 100 grainers?

I would think 105's with the added speed wouldn't be to big an issue. Have you run it through bergers stability calculator?

I'm having a lot of trouble finding an accurate load for my 240 in the 100+ size bullets now I'm working on 95 gr Hornady

Been shooting my 240 today with berger 105 vld hunting bullet. Loaded 53 gr h4831 with cci br2 seated at 3.2500 groups measured .46 the load i tried with vld are 53 gr rl 22 and cci 250 primers at 3.250 one group was .46 the other group was .51 pretty darn good for 1/10 twist factory barrel
