I will be getting a couple feeders by February and wondering if the deer get nocturnal around hunting season. Or do you guys get some kind of timer or something where it will feed free choice only during the day. I was think about the all seasons protein feeder but not sure. I know the krivoman feeders have a timer for the protein where you can have them going only during the day during hunting season.

I have used free choice feeders 24/7/365 for the last 25 years on ranches I have managed or on my own land. Deer are nocturnal in my area in the late spring and summer with the heat, not the style feeder I use.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

If you are concerned put a spin feeder to the pen along with the protein feeder. I do not like hunting protein feeders but have done in when I can keep the hunting pressure down or the shooting down around the feeder. I also use a road feeder and have never had any issue seeing deer with free choice protein. I have actually had deer walk over corn to eat protein in the Oct-Nov part of hunting season.

I would be putting it beside my corn feeder due to lease rules. Need to have feeders inside feeder pens bc there are cows roaming around
