Wonder how the Game departments around the country are going to see this one? In Texas air rifles are legal for only non game animals and I think that has changed to include some small game.

What are they going to classify this? Lump it in with Crossbows?

This is one of the few times that a new product doesn't scream "gimmick" to me. It's truly impressive.

I'm not a Jim Shockey fan and was surprised to see that the bolt didn't penetrate farther. Are bison that tough?

It is my understanding it will be classified as a air rifle. Not a bow of any sort. It is also my understanding that the tpw will meet later this year to try and figure out what regulations need to be set forth to make hunting with a air powered rifle legal.

Good. It's not a bow at all and shouldn't be classified as one. A crossbow barely classifies as a bow in my book. But this is impressive if it is slinging a 450g arrow at 450 fps. I'd try it out, but I'll stick with a bow.

I think high powered large bore air rifles should be allowed for hunting. You can shoot a 350 grain bullet 70 yards accurately and kill a pig instantly. And it's quiet enough that the other pigs don't run. Seems pretty ethical to me.

At that power imagine how hard it will be to pull the bow fishing arrow out of the bottom of the lake or a log at times you hit them. Pass through on fish would also be common as well as pinning fish to the bottom.

If they offer a way to turn it down some then it might make a great bow fishing rig and could see one being modified or just another designed for bow fishing.

Im sure you could change the pressure and slow it down some. It may have a regulator or pressure control valve on it already. You wouldn't want it to be to powerful, because flinging an arrow on a string to hard is dangerous. That is why you don't see a lot of new compound bows setup for bowing fishing. I had some bad experience with that, and switched over to a recurve.

they are making compound bows for bowfishing that max out at 40lbs. Recurve still works well also. I expect to see more of the Mathews newer 40lb Genesis type bows used for bowfishing this year as well.

That would be nice not having to deal with those long limbs on a boat.

If it got handicapped people out during bow season I think it deserves considerations.
