The older 870's are considered to be better than today's 870. I have no idea of the value, but I would certainly not part with it.

Not as much as you may think. Depending on condition, assuming that it operates fine I'd give it a value of anywhere from $300 on up to about $450 but it's worth keeping over selling in my eyes.

Will take a Wingmaster over the express 870 any day. Own both and much prefer the older 870 Wingmaster action to the Express. Generally will be smoother and simpler.

You won't find a nice old Wingmaster for $300 anywhere around here.

Pass the gravy.

Keep it. I wouldn't trade 1 old Wingmaster for 2 newer 870 Expresses.

Nice score! The only down side to an old Wingmaster is the fixed choke bbls. If it's in a choke you use regularly you're golden. If not, New bbls can be pricey. I saw an old Wingmaster with 2 bbls (full and mod) at a gun show several years ago for $500.00. Still kicking myself for not jumping on that one.

Is that a choke you regularly use? Check out Mossberg for aftermarket barrels. Believe it or not they make bbls for Remmies and they're lots cheaper. I'm just not sure they make them for the old Wingmasters.

Those older barrels are also thick enough usually that they can be threaded for screw in chokes.
