I went to lease for late season doe/spike, but ended up slaying pigs. Most we're small, but I shot a few bigger ones as well. The smaller pigs just couldn't stay away from the feeders. Truth be told, I could have killed 20 or more, but I held off several times during peak deer movement times. I watched pigs for an hour and a half one evening without shooting. I killed two pigs with one shot twice which was a first for me. Granted they were piglets, but they're still dead none the less. I killed 18 or 19 last year, so I'm on pace to shatter that number this year. The 6.8 did work this weekend.

Running out of big pigs, are ya?

Hey, it takes more skill to shoot the little buggers than the big ones!

Good job!

Congrats! nice mess of pigs there!

I see the temps are dropping into the 30's at night. Is this helping get the hogs up and moving during the day light times? We are heading to north Texas at the end of the month for 2 days then to Oklahoma for 2 days.

After seeing pictures like this, Cant wait to get down there! Plus its FREEZING here in Nebraska these days!

I'm not an expert on the topic of when pigs chose to eat. At our lease in west Texas we see pigs at all hours day and night from fall to spring. During he hot summer months they do nocturnal at our place. Yesterday when I left our place at 1:00 I saw pigs in our wheat fields and saw them out eating at other places as well. I would saw we are over run with hogs in our area and the competion for food may drive behavior. Meaning the pigs our feeders outside the pens when they go off.
