Ok guys I was fooling around in the garage and decided to get my varmint gear out to go call alittle later. All I had is my regular white light spotlight and I couldn't find the red filter. I was scrambling and looked in the kitchen cabinet and found a red transparent Tupperware lid, marked with a sharpie and cut it in a circle so I could lay it on top of the lens and screw the plastic keeper over it, turned it on and works perfect. My question is... Will this "genius" idea work or will it simply just melt!? Thanks fellas

Amazon has colored film available for use on lighting instruments. Put "Rosco" or "Rosco Lux" in the search bar.

I used an old taillight from a trailer one time, worked OK, but lacked a lot of range. The fitted lens covers, are hard to beat.

Might work fine in the winter, not sure about summer. Turn it on for a while and try it.
A buddy and I talked about trying the gel filters used in the music industry on stage lights. Haven't tried it yet.

you might need an air gap between the light and the lid to keep it from melting ... I know that a q-beam will melt a vinyl seat cover when left turned on while chasing a coon.
