How long will hog meat keep in mid to high 30 degree weather before cutting out the blackstrap? Shot a pig at 3:45 and won't be able to remove the back straps until 6:30 or so. Is this ok, or is the meat going to be spoiled?

I would cut them out and inspect but I'm 90% sure it will be fine as long as it was not in direct sun.

Fridge temp is 40*. Most likely just fine. Your nose knows. Why just the straps?

Don't waste them.....Gut them and take them to the homeless shelter or someone that can use the meat.
Shhhhhhhh better to be quiet than remove all doubt..

I had three whole hogs processed recently and don't have room in the freezer.
quarter & pack in ice in a cooler; I kept one like that about 2 weeks while I Pulled pieces every other day & smoked till it was all gone - never hit the freezer (twas too full). ate good! gave a bunch of smoked away. none wasted.
