I have a nilgai hunt coming up, and looking for what others experience has been hunting bull nilgai with bow. For those that have hunted them what have you been successful with? Anything that I should avoid?

Haven't hunted them with a bow, but took one with a rifle. They have a tough hide. Use a broad head that gets lots of penetration. I wouldn't use one with blade inserts. Use a fixed blade and a tough one. I have 2 broad heads that I would use, the old Bear 2 blade and the Rotthar snuffer. Not sure if either is still available though.

I would certainly make sure it's a fixed blade broadhead and not a mechanical. That's for sure. I wouldn't hesitate to use my 125 grain Slick Trick Magnums. They've never let me down. But any good quality fixed blade broadhead should work.

I shot mine with a 100 grain Thunderhead. It went approximately 60 yards.

German Kinetics is by far the best choice, many broad heads will work until you a shoulder bone. Go with the kinetics!!

Yeah but at over $30 each most folks can't afford them when many others will do the job just as well.

Given the pricing I've seen for Nilgai hunts, $180 for a half dozen broadheads, doesn't seem excessive.

for every stereotype there's a prototype don't be the prototype

It does if a $15 per head will do just as well.

It's been a few years since my shoulder crapped out and I stopped shooting my bow, but every comparison I remember, rated the Kinetics Silver Flame number one. It's up to each individual to decide if it's worth it.

Get a broad head that you can fit down a 30 caliber bore. Then fix it to the top of a 30-06.

There is a guy on TBH who swears by those heads. I'm sure they are great heads, and on dangerous African game, heck yes. Would hate to miss and lose one. However I am an advocate of shooting the best equipment you can responsibly afford so if you have the means get them.

Something else to consider. Chisel points may be tougher but blade points will get better penetration, and thats what you need.
