I got a set of waders from Rogers sporting goods(Warranty) after the first pair sprung a leak in the boot.

Now I got a new problem. I punctured the new pair by apparently kicking a shell. My thought is that they are not going to replace these when they already replaced a pair... But I'll still ask them...

Anybody have any experience trying to patch a wader boot? It is a pretty small hole right in the tip of the boot where it starts to curve under....

I found a hippo patch. It appears like it may work but wanted to check on here to see if any of you guys had a better solution other than buy a new pair because that's not an option.

I literally just got these a few weeks ago. Only the 3rd hunt in these...

Goop E-6000 shoe repair (glue) - will stick to / fix anything!
I keep a 6-pak of the mini-tubes in my travel bag - saved me on many things many times (mini-tubes won't dry out on you).

I tried flex seal on an old pair of waders and it didn't adhere to the rubber.

I found this stuff online that is designed specifically for rubber boots and other outdoor gear including waders. It is called SG-20. It is a 2 part fast curing adhesive. It sets up in 20-30 seconds and is cured within an hour.

Going to give it a try. The reviews all look really good too!

I don't know how it would work on waders, but I use it on my rain coats all the time. I ripped a pocket about 2/3rds of the way off, laid the coat out flat on the tailgate and put the pocket back in place and painted the liquid tape all around the pocket and its held up very well. That was about 4 or 5 months ago.

Buy a new pair of boots if you can't patch them. Why should a store replace an item that you damaged?

By the responses of flags and dry fire, you clearly didn't read the original post. But thanks for the responses anyways

Does shoe goo work on rubber...

Here is the stuff I am going to try.

if its a small hole, not a tear, maybe try a tire plug. The kind you would use on an ATV tire.
Only issue may be trimming the part on the inside of the boot.

It's one of those holes where once I pulled the shell out, you can't even see it without having to stretch the rubber to expose it...

The Goop E6000 (same co as shoe goo) will stick to ANYTHING, and is extremely strong when dried.
I've glued plastic to glass with it (and fixed rubber boots too).

maybe cut a piece of inner tube and use the E6000 to adhere it. Then repeat the procedure on the inside of the boot. Put the waders on and fill your bathtub to test them before u go hunting and end up mad.

Well, I did go hunting and though the hunt was ruined by some yahoo's blowing their kazoos nonstop and calling at birds that were working my spread over 200+ yards away from them, I am glad to report that my wader boots held up great with the SG-20 sealant. My feet were dry and comfortable the whole time. I wish the hunt had gone a little different though. No birds killed.

Try a product called Hippo Patch sold at Academy, sounds just like what you need.

I have the hippo patch but with the location of the leak, I didn't think hippo patch would work. I used that stuff to fix a canoe last year. Still have a sheet of it.

So far the repair is holding! Thanks for everyone's comments and suggestions! And if you ever have the same problem, try the SG-20!!!
