Understand rut is really running late in South Texas. Any information on Jim Wells County would be appreciated.
Don't talk the talk if you didn't walk the walk.

Was there last weekend and saw a TON of does but no bucks except spikes. My dad had a good buck pass across the sendero quickly without getting a shot. A week before Christmas we had bucks everywhere. Hard to say....we hunt near Seven Sisters in Duval Co.

Will be busting a few before the end of the month.

In southern duval by us rut picked up around Dec 18, assume peak was about a week after that and as of last weekend they were still chasing. I assume this weekend they will be slowing down, but might still be looking.
We have seen lots of does as well this season and have opted not to shoot them in order to keep the place quiet, but as the end of the season approaches they better stay out of sight!
It's hell eatin em live

We have seen no rutting activity near Palito Blanco. Today I'm going to my lease in Starr County (El Sauz). I'll let you know how that goes.
If you want some friendly advice, get a haircut and take a bath. You wouldn't get hassled so much.

We're seeing lots of does and spikes this year as well. How far north of Rio are you? North or South of 716? Our ranch isn't far from there. As others have said our main rut was about a week before Christmas. When I was out there this past week I saw several spikes and small bucks still chasing.

We're a couple of miles east of El Sauz. About 15 miles north of Rio. 1,000 acres next to one of the Vannie Cook properties.

We are off of 210 & 211 West of 1329. My buck season is over for this year. This weekend & next weekend I will be tied up making tamales, building a horse stable, and doing kid stuff. I plan on going at least once more before the end of the month to bust a few does or spikes for the freezer. Talked to ranch foreman earlier today and said he saw a real nice buck yesterday but as usual was gone quick. They're still chasing.

Well you are in luck I checked my schedule and I am free to be able to sub for you from now until next Sunday....I will shoot that big buck, gut/skin it and donate all the venison to you AND... throw in a few half gallons of BB Ice Cream of your choice....deal?

Man some BB sounds good amigo. I have 3 spoon fulls left that I am thinking about eating right now. Someday, I hope to have my own place so I can take who I want, when I want and do things my way. Until then, I'll just keep dreaming.
