I have Remington 700 w/5R barrel in .308. Love the accuracy. Looking to purchase same rifle in .300 Winmag. Seems like most come with the barrel threaded for suppressor. Does the threaded barrel w/cap have the same accuracy as a non-threaded barrel w/factory crown?

The crown is not affected by the threading.

I would assume that the cap has the crown. Is that right? I haven't seen one in person, so I don't know.

No. The cap covers the threads only a small portion lines up with the crown. The cap is more of a thread protector then an actual cap.

+1. The cap simply covers the threads on the outside. The crown is independent of the thread protector.

You could also add a muzzle brake, since it's already threaded. I don't like shooting my 300 WM suppressed. The suppressor has too much of a large push and pulls me off target during recoil. A good muzzle brake works much better for recoil recovery. I can spot my hits from about 200 yards and out with my braked 300 WM. I'd struggle to see my hits from 400-500 yards or closer shooting suppressed.

Only small problem I've noticed with having a thread barrel without any purpose currently, meaning I don't have a brake or suppressor, is that if you're not paying attention the thread protector can easily back out and it surprised me how much that threw off the accuracy.

It happened to me one day when I first got mine the consistency started falling off with random flyers after about 60 rounds within a couple hours. I wasn't paying attention and the thread protector as literally halfway unscrewed. Since then I have tried shooting several groups without it and several with it while continuously ensuring the thread protector is on tightly and both sets had the same poi and grouping sizes.

Nowadays I just take it off when I start and put it back on afterwards.
