Does anyone have some Nosler 260 Rem brass that can take a measurement of the neck thickness? I need to calculate the neck tension and case neck dimensions with these cases. The Lapua 260 Rem cases are too thick in the neck that I am using for this rifle, and need something thinner in the neck. Loaded ammunition with the neck outside diameter would also work.

Do not have any to measure, but that must be a tight chambered rifle.

Yes. This is a pre- Lapua brass 260 chambering that has the tighter neck. The Lapua brass is too thick to chamber. The Remington works fine, but we can not get any currently.

I'll check tomorrow. I had some Nosler 260 brass, but don't know that I still do. I remember that I was getting a lot of split necks with that brass.
I had my 223 re barreled some time back and ran into the exact same problem of thick case neck walls in Lapua brass. Lapua reloads would not chamber, when factory loads would. Took me a while to figure it all out. You found your problem much faster than I did. I turned a lot of necks until I finally decided to take it back to have the tight match chamber opened up.

What about sizing .243 brass into .260 Rem?

I know this does not completely answer the question but I have a .308 that was made to use turned Lapua brass. After the brass that came with the gun started getting loose primers instead of turning more I decided to try what you are thinking.... I bought Nosler and Norma brass and it worked perfectly with the same bushing with no turning. My bet is that Winchester or Black hills brass would work as well.

My buddy has some. If you don't find the info tonight call me tomorrow and I'll go over there and measure it. The battery is out on his crappy calipers. 214-882-6566

That's measurements from 2 years ago on a box I had. Measured with a ball-neck micrometer, not calipers. Why didn't you call me? LOL

I've been purchasing loaded nosler ammo to use for fire forming in my 260AI. The first couple of boxes were 0.015, but my most recent boxes were 0.013.
I started out using a .293 bushing with the 0.015 brass and couldn't figure out why the newer brass wasn't giving me the correct neck tension. I went back and remeasured the new 0.013 brass and realized I needed a .289 bushing which I now have on order.
Hope that helps!
