This 'occupation' up in Oregon is so bizarre to me. Isn't breaking and entering, trespassing with loaded firearms on federal property a felony offense? I completely understand they are in a remote area but to give these criminals a fee pass is beyond perplexing to me.

What do you want hem to do Matty?

Go in there in force and kill a bunch of those ignorant red necks?

It appears to me that since the perps are really endangering no one, other
than themselves right now, it is a bit of wisdom to just let them be for now.

There has been enough bloodshed with the Feds going in too quick. Probably could just forget about them for a while and it would work itself out. They'd get bored and leave without the attention.

I personally think the govt has to hold these guys accountable just the same as any other criminal. I have read up on the issue of the govt power abuse as it pertains to the grazing rights/land use/BLM/ and I am on the rancher private land side of the argument but there is a right way and a wrong way to deal with institution injustice by the fed. govt. From what I understand the 2 ranchers sound like the are innocent and are serving time based on outdated federal minimum guidelines which is a travesty even the original judge disagreed with and they also have zero involvement in the illegal activity currently occurring at the refuge. But the guys who broke into a federal facility (I know basically unused but also very symbolic) with loaded guns and are calling for others to join in defense of this building are looking for another Waco/Ruby Ridge. With today's social media we have seen how quickly stuff like this can get under control. Why not stop the problem before it actually blows up?

My solution would be for Obama to simply negotiate with these guys and offer the 2 ranchers an complete executive pardon in exchange the dudes involved in the 'occupation' would turn themselves in and not resist arrest. That would be a true example of peaceful civil disobedience that might actually move the conversation in a productive direction rather than incite violence.

I am having a hard time understanding the intelligence of a group trying to start the next "Great Revolution" by occupying a gift shop!

I disagree with your solution. If Obama gets involved it gives undue attention to the occupiers. A solution is to let them be in a isolated area. I do not support the government interviening with force when the dispute is over land and no one is in immemant danger.
