We have been getting a bunch of picture every night, all nocturnal, but talents they are pictures. We decided to pull the cards the night of the first after noticing a bunch of corn left over and them not touching the corn we put on the road. When we pulled the card we noticed we had 65 pictures the night of the 29th and nothing the 30th or 31st. All our corn is piling up. Why do you think they all of a sudden stopped coming around. We did find a deer carcass and was thing maybe yotes keeping them away?

Have you heard any shots the last 3-4 days? Lots of hunters out there trying to bag one this last week. That would be my 1st guess.

Could be they moved to a better food source away from your property. I've seen that happen many times

Too much pressure by us or in general do you think? We have been doing good not to go out and get cams as much anymore. Also the weirdest part to me is how they just stopped overnight. It went from a heavy traffic night to absolutely nothing

I don't know. It seems like you post about being there a lot and it's a smaller property so maybe the moved their bedding area or maybe they just simply decided they don't want corn for a while. Who knows really.

Last year was my first year to hunt and i definitely learned my lesson about pressure. I was so stoked about seeing deer on camera that I was out checking my camera every other day almost. This year I resorted to only checking them about once every couple of weeks to a month. I also only hunted when the wind was in my favor. Made a huge difference and saw deer on almost every sit. Well...except for the huge ten pointer that I have yet to lay eyes on in person.

We are, we hunt takeaway three days a week. We have gotten good about only checking cams when we shoot a deer though

We have taken 5. I am in no means disappointed in this season, just trying to learn on what may have changed. If we are doing something wrong.

How many acres? 5 deer on a small place is a LOT. Keep that up for a couple years and you will truly have no deer.

We are on 10 acres so I don't think any of them are bedded down there. It isn't an issue of not enough deer, when we were getting pictures we were getting tons of them. Just a question on possible reasons for sudden pattern change

Though, often that is the case, some places are able to withstand that kind of harvest. My Dad could shot 15+ deer a year on his little 5 acre hill country lot and there'd only be more deer next year than there are now. Some places just have insanely high deer densities. It is no thing to see 25 different deer within the first 10 minutes of the feeder going off.

When talking to one of the other owners out there he said a few years back when they first subdivided they were looking at bringing in people to lower the numbers because there were so many deer there. They never did and I feel like we have a ton still around. This year though they have been staying to their nocturnal ways.

I was horrible at the beginning of the year with this. I think I enjoyed the cams as much as I did hunting. I have gotten better though and plan to replace my main cameras next year with the 3G and replace my feeder with some much larger ones so maybe I don't have to enter the area the whole season.

5 deer killed on 10 acres, & now you wonder where they all are?

There are not many areas of the state that can abide that number harvested per acre, at least for very long.

Just my opinion.......

I would consider that if we didn't have hundreds of pictures since the last time we shot a deer. If every time we shot a deer it looked like less and less but to be honest it seems like there were more and more deer as the season went on. We didn't shoot a deer since the disappearance on the morning of the 30th

I think 5 deer off of 10 acres in that part of the state is pretty high. I know there's a good number of deer in that area, but that still seems high. But I'm no biologist by any means. I would guess your not seeing as much because of pressure.

Yes, you would think just the pressure alone would have an impact, even if numbers could be maintained.
