I remember when I was a kid a herd of Barbado sheep came through the property we quail hunted on. We went home and grabbed the 22. I wanted to shoot the big ram. Papaw told me there was no reason to shoot that SOB it would tast like sht. I shot 2 cabrito sized babies and they tasted great. I still would have liked to see those horns close up.

I dont know why people take fences so seriously. (Please dont explain to me why for god sake) But I'd like to clear something up as well. These rams were not stocked. They came in from somewhere entirely else. They did cross the 4 ft fence to get on to this property. But thats not the point. The point is that when I post "low fence rams" I dont need multiple people explaining to me what a low fence is. I know what a low fence is and I really dont need the history in Texas of how people view fences. But thank you that was interesting! And as for whoever said there are no free ranging corsicans, Safari Club International has a record book particularly for free ranging corsican rams and a completely different one for non free ranging corsicans. Soooo yeah. But ill end on this. If a fence is a low fence, which means its not a high fence, then you cant sit and look at it and call it something different. Its a low fence. Things can roam in and out of it. I really dont understand the big deal with the fences. Chill out everybody! We're a hunting community. Not a debate team. If you want to debate send me a Pm. If you don't understand the so called "Big Deal" with fences why then did you title your post "Trophy low fence rams"?

I don't chose to send you a PM- I'll state my thoughts for all to see. I only chimed in in an effort to support you and maybe shine a little light of what you perceived as some attacking you. But I now know you are too educated to have needed anything from me and for my intrusion into your thread I apologize. Good luck with your hunting career !!

I believe this is a direct quote from you on a previous thread: "Man you need to relax. Its a picture of a guys trophy. Cant we just comments without being criticized all the time? They aren't negative comments and cheap shots. Dont post if you dont want our replies."

Nice sheep and congrats. But any free ranging sheep that made to Pearsall, Tex on their own has to be very special and very lucky. Coyotes would have eaten them once they got south of HWY 90. Did they have ewes on the property also?
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

About the only free range Corsican type sheep would be if they lived on the interstate hwy. system where there are no fences. The sheep were either put there or they got out of a neighbors place. You very seldom see Texas Dall that are still pure white that were not put into a place. Even black belly Corsican that still hold their color show that they have not been mixed with other sheep. I could give a rats a** how or where these sheep were taken. I just get tired of people trying to make themselves feel good by saying something is what it is not.

You are talking to people on here that know what they are talking about, people that own ranches and sheep. Some that have done this most of their lives. It would be wise to listen to these folks. In 25 years of raising sheep I never had a sheep of any kind jump a 4 foot fence.

I think that the op included a little bit too much info on his thread title.... the animals y'all harvested are nice regardless of the range conditions.

I Feed Indian Corn. The deer love it and all the colors make them stay at the feeder longer.
