Saw this one opening weekend, didn't kill it cuz no help around to help load. We hunted him hard, saw him a few more times but he never offered a clean shot. It's not his horns that were appealing it's that he's the only mature buck we saw this year. Poacher season starts in two weeks and runs into July. If we bag one poacher it'll be a good season. Happy New Year THF!

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

I pull my trailer with a ramp out to pick mine up just drag them on and go. You could also buy a winch for you UTV or Truck.

I'd figure something out!
But, it seems like I'm good for a buck every other year. We're you at least able to get some meat in the freezer?

Quarters are pretty easy to lift. I got an L frame winch for my mule after killing an Axis buck I couldn't lift while hunting alone. Had to dress him in the field like some caveman.

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

I've never not shot a deer cause of unable to load him. Get one those small cranes above. We use them all the time just for cleaning deer

Very nice buck, hopefully he makes it until next season and gets even better.
Like a good friend used to say, hope is the last thing that dies!

There's dozens of easy ways to load by yourself. I thought of one way after the fact. Gotta be careful with a back that's trashed. Didn't expect to see anything I'd shoot that Sunday afternoon. Hadn't seen anything worthy on game cams. Every buck I'd seen night hunting pigs weren't ready for this year either. Just goes to show that one never knows what has remained reclusive, venturing out only for the rut. I got to see him, photograph him, that'll have to do for this year. My hunting bud is out on stand this afternoon. But this deer didn't get old and survive up until now making mistakes. He's likely back in the 800 acre pasture that's so thick a man has to crawl on his belly to move about. A pasture no man has hunted in decades.
